Our yurts, shepherd’s huts and campsite

For those interested in having a holiday with a difference, we have two yurts, built locally following a traditional Mongolian design; these offer a unique and peaceful alternative to camping.

Our yurts are set amongst the trees and are equipped to offer a comfortable yet simple way of life. They are decorative and comfortably furnished with futons, wood burners and simple cooking and washing up facilities. (Bed linen and duvets not provided.)

Each yurt has its own BBQ and outside chairs and tables and there is a ready supply of firewood.

The two shepherd’s huts are also situated amongst the trees; they are both over one hundred years old, with barrelled tin roofs and wooden interiors. Shepherd’s huts originally provided simple shelter particularly during lambing or other busy times of the shepherding year. They are simply furnished with pull out beds, wood burners and cooking and washing up facilities. Like the yurts, shepherd’s huts offer a unique experience and an alternative to camping.

There are hot showers and loos and a communal fridge/freezer in separate buildings.

Due to the presence of the animals we cannot accommodate dogs and we ask guests to refrain from smoking inside all the accommodation.
