Mayo Farm Yurts

Mayo Farm Camping & Yurt Holidays in the Heart of the Dorset Countryside.

Our yurts, shepherd’s hut and campsite

For those interested in having a holiday with a difference, we have two yurts, built locally following traditional Mongolian design; these offer a unique and peaceful alternative to camping.

Our yurts are set amongst the trees and are equipped to offer a comfortable yet simple way of life.  They are decorative and comfortably furnished with futons, wood burners and simple cooking and washing up facilities.  (Bed linen and duvets are not provided).

Each yurt has its own BBQ and outside chairs and tables.  There is a ready supply of firewood.

The shepherd’s hut is also set amongst the trees and is over one hundred years old, with barreled tin roof and wooden interior.  Shepherd’s hut originally provided simple shelter particularly during lambing or other busy times in the shepherding year.  It is simply furnished with a pull out bed across the width of the hut.  As this is only 5’11 the hut is not really suitable for taller visitors.  The hut has a wood burner, simple cooking and washing up facilities.  (Bed linen and duvet are not provided).

There are hot showers and loos and a camper’s kitchen with fridge/freezer and drying facilities for communal use.

Due to the presence of animals we cannot accommodate dogs and we ask guests to refrain from smoking inside all the accommodation.
